These micelles consist of active ingredients and many kinds of emulsifiers, creating an oil-in-water emulsion. The lipophilic components form a lipid core, surrounded by emulsifiers in a water-based phase, allowing active compounds to be incorporated into the core, emulsifier layer, or both.
